This is the sign-up post for one of the challenges I have decided to do in 2017. Basically there are seven categories and you have to read a book that fits each of the categories, and no overlapping!
The challenge is being hosted by The Bookshelf Gargoyle and you can check out the rules for the challenge and sign up for it there too if you like.
It doesn’t say you have to pre-choose the books for this challenge but I always like to be prepared, it saves me trying to work it out later when I’m in a hurry looking for another book to read!
A book with a word or phrase relating to wildness in the title – any interpretation of the word “wild” is acceptable | Life of Pi by Yann Martel (seriously, if you’ve seen the movie this book totally fits into the wildness category!)
A book with a species of bird (or the word “bird”) in the title | Scarecrow by Matthew Reilly
A book with an exotic or far-flung location in the title – fantasy and mythical locations are acceptable | Pig Island by Mo Hayder
A book with an object you might hunt for in the title | The Lost Amulet by Mary Farrugia
A book with a synonym for chase in the title (or its derivatives: chasing, chased, etc) | The Conquest by Yxta Maya Murray
A book with a means of transport in the title | Maze Runner by James Dashner (it has run in the title, I’m going with it!)
A book with an object you might take on a search or hunt in the title | The Sword of the Templars by Paul Christopher
Are you doing this challenge as well? Have you decided on any books to read yet?
