Yesterday I did my volunteer day up at the zoo. It was cold, wet and rainy, a real miserable kind of day. But it was still nice being up there.

We were doing some planting and weeding up near the giraffe safari which is one of the “behind the scenes” experiences the zoo does. So it was pretty cool seeing giraffes in the background while working. The ostriches hung around pretty much all day, maybe they were lonely and wanted some company!

There were also a few creepy crawlies in amongst all the weeds, heaps of spiders actually. And not all creepy individuals, there were a couple of christmas beetles which were cool.

I hope you liked these photos, remember support your local zoo and the good work they do with conservation of the beautiful animals on this planet.
